How Microsoft Chaged my life

Innovation of new things is such a wonderful job that without this life of a human being would have been dull, monotonous and lazy. Everybody has power of innovation, however, to the indivdual capacity and limitations. People with small innovations also help the society in general but the people with big innovative ideas do wonders and generate a change in the living of common person. Among these innovative minds, towards software, are Bill Gates and Paul Allen. The childhood friends have provided the world, an organization called Microsoft.

Microsoft was founded by Bill Gates and Paul Allen on April 4, 1975 to develop and sell BASIC. It rose to dominate the personal computer operating system market with MS-DOS in the mid-1980s, followed by the Microsoft Windows. Since the 1990s, it has increasingly diversified from the operating system market and has made a number of corporate acquisitions. In May 2011, Microsoft acquired Skype Technologies for $8.5 billion, its largest acquisition to date.

Today we are not able to dream a world without computer application and I cannot imagine my educational life without MS Office - Word, PowerPoint, Excel, Access, Publisher, Outlook etc. Every product has its own specialty and these are the best preferred for accounting, data mgt, seminar, presentations and mail etc. The current versions are Office 2013 for Windows and Office 2011 for OSX released on 11/10/12 and 26/10/2010 respectively. The company also produces a wide range of other software for desktops and servers, and is active in areas including Internet search (with Bing), the video game industry (with the Xbox, Xbox 360 and Xbox One consoles), the digital services market (through MSN), and mobile phones (via the Windows Phone OS). In June 2012, Microsoft entered the personal computer production market for the first time, with the launch of the Microsoft Surface, a line of tablet computers.

If we think a little, we can find that Microsoft has impacted all of our lives, and not only mine, in some way or the other, in fact in every way.

I was introduced to the wonderful and marvellous machine called computer when I was in second standard. In the initial school days we the small kids, I remember were not allowed to touch the computers. Teacher used to ask us to fall in one row. With great discipline and lots of instructions we were taken to the lab just for watching ‘Tom and Jerry’, Donald Duck, Small wonders etc. series on the Lab PCs.

Impact of software on my life

Microsoft is no slave to any introduction in today’s world. Re-Introducing them would be showing a lamp to the SUN. Today when people make their CVs, their qualification adds the knowledge of MS office software’s eg word/excel/power point etc. Microsoft founded on April 4, 1975, has created an estimated 3 billionaires and 12,000 millionaires out of the group.

I am writing this article because I have applied for Microsoft Student Associates and i want to share something about Microsoft and how it has impacted my life and also how i have planned to bring a change to the society being a Microsoft Student Associate.

I would like to share my experience with just one~two part of MS office software with you all and am sure, we all will understand how advance/important is the said software. With so much of buzz word about software’s, nobody has made software where we can see mails offline (without internet being on). MS office outlook is the only email software which we are able to use offline after the mails are downloaded. Mail contents and its attachments are readily available to you any time, every time on offline mode. No limitations in opening the attachments in complete terms. It is just like another folder on your PC. Time and again we all felt prey to the availability of internet to see our already received mails. But with outlook we are just happy going. You can keep the mails composed and sent. Where ever your pc catches internet, the mails are sent automatically..... HOW MUCH OF EASE OF WORK!!!

Another software MS office Excel for data management. Simplest example is that we can manage our telephone directory/grocery list  in any manner. We can sort the data by name, sir name, phone no or any manner. We can see the no. Of persons carrying same name, we can count no. Of persons with same sir name etc. In other datas we can make sum/total/average/count of nos etc with just one mouse click.....ACTUALLY WE CAN PLAY WITH DATA AND THAT IS PLEASURE!!!!

I remember my father working on similar data’s during his professional career. He would jumble with lot of pen/pencil/eraser/scale/multi colour pens and still he was not fully sure of his ledger/data register. But now with a click of mouse the Excel data sheet is coloured for categories. We can even sort the data by colour. I actually feel working with MS office Excel is like playing with a ball...it is Ease of life.

I was introduced to the wonderful and marvellous machine called computer when I was in 2nd standard at my school. My school had regular computer class right from the 2nd standard. In the initial school days we the small kids, I remember was not allowed to touch the computers. Teacher used to ask us to fall in one row and with a great discipline and lots of instructions we were taken to the lab just for watching ‘Tom and Jerry’, Donald Duck, Small wonders etc. series in the PCs. When we got the permission to touch the computers and for the first time I switched it on the first thing that caught my site was the colourful Windows 98 Logo. It was like “love at first sight” for me with the computers and with the software because at that age the only thing I knew was ‘what is hardware?’ and about software I had no idea
